Chateaux holidays in France
The Private Apartment
Usually when taking chateaux holidays in France you either have to rent a self-contained apartment within one wing of a larger chateau or have your own bedroom within a house with shared facilities. The accommodation at Château de Névian is unusual as it allows for some self-contained spaces within the chateau, so it is perfect for a number of families holidaying together. The private apartment consists of an enormous lounge/cinema room (35m2) with large balcony (19m2) overlooking the pool and village. It has a bedroom (24m2), kitchenette/laundry (21m2) and bathroom (16m2). All in all there is 115m2 of private space in the apartment on the second floor of the chateau. Alternatively the living room can be used as a cinema room and shared with others in your group.
Mounting the red marble stairs to the top floor of the chateau you enter into a spacious hallway lit by a stained glass window. Go through the decorative ironwork portail and to your left is the entrance to the private apartment. The double height ceilings of the apartment make it a wonderfully cool and airy space even without its air conditioning on. Open the door to the spacious balcony and you will be rewarded with gentle breezes that flow into the living area, keeping it cool and fresh on even the hottest summer day. The balcony has a table and chairs for 6 people and views over the pool area and the Black Mountains in the distance.
The apartment’s sitting room has comfortable leather armchairs and sofa, and a giant screen satellite TV with Netflix. It also has English, German and French channels. From the apartment you enter the bedroom which also has double height ceilings and views over the village from its windows. It has its own wide screen TV. Traditional wooden shutters ensure that the bedroom is very quiet at night. The apartment also has a separate kitchenette/laundry room and private bathroom.
